Striking 'arrest warrant' detail in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case: Reflected in the inspector's report!

Ayhan Bora Kaplan case, after fugitive Serdar Sertçelik, who was introduced as the number 2 of the organization and testified as a secret witness, accused the Ankara police of "forcing him to sign a 19-page statement full of lies and slander," 7 suspects, including former Ankara Deputy Police Chief Murat Çelik, were arrested. 

REPORT COMPLETED

The civil inspector assigned by the Ministry of Interior has submitted the report on the suspect police officers to the prosecutor's office. According to the report in Hürriyet, the 84-page report includes striking findings regarding the secret witness's escape.

Sertçelik was fitted with an electronic tag on October 18, 2023. The first violation signal was recorded on October 19. Sertçelik subsequently continued his violations on October 26, October 30, October 31, November 1, November 2, November 9, November 19, and November 20, 2023. The inspector's report reflects the information that the violations committed by Sertçelik were not reported to law enforcement by the Probation Directorate.

The report states that the last violation committed by Sertçelik on November 27 was reported late to the Police Station. Regarding the actions taken after communication with Sertçelik was lost, the report stated the following:

“The actions taken after the loss of communication with Sertçelik consisted of checking his residence at various times to see if he was present, and 9 days after the day contact with the individual was lost, on December 5, 2023, a letter was written to 80 Provincial Police Departments and the Department of Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates, requesting sensitivity at border gates and provincial entry-exit checkpoints regarding the possibility of him going abroad and his apprehension…”
