Hürriyet newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, in his column today, reported a new development in the high-interest fund fraud case known publicly as the Fatih Terim Fund.

Selvi alleged that camera footage showing Seçil Erzan's office and entries and exits to the Denizbank branch was tampered with and that some images were deleted.

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION

In his column, Selvi stated, "It has emerged that the camera footage showing Seçil Erzan's office and entries and exits to the Denizbank branch was tampered with and some images were deleted. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into Denizbank executives on the allegation of destroying evidence of a crime," and added the following:

"I am not ignoring the possibility that Seçil Erzan may have given this statement to save herself. But there is also the allegation of the destruction of evidence of a crime. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation under Article 281 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK)."
