Striking claim in land registry controversy: Three land registry officials suspended for querying Akın Gürlek's records
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced the assets of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek at a press conference last week, stating that the total value of Gürlek's properties was 452 million liras.
TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik has claimed that three land registry officials have been suspended for allegedly querying the land registry records of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.
Atik argued that it was determined that the three land registry officials had transferred land registry information to the CHP leadership.
Özel had also shared the ID records through which Gürlek's land registry records could be examined.
Akın Gürlek, meanwhile, denied Özel's claim, stating, "These imaginary claims, which are included in the papers handed to Özgür Özel but have no basis in actual land registry records, are entirely intended to mislead the public."
"THEY TRANSFERRED LAND REGISTRY INFORMATION"
Atik claimed that the land registry records were illegally transferred to the CHP and that those responsible have been suspended.
In a post on his social media account, Fatih Atik stated the following: "Three land registry officials who illegally queried the land registry records of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek have been suspended. It was determined that the three public officials, two of whom are land registry directors and one a technician, transferred land registry information to the CHP leadership. An investigation has been launched against them."
