Striking claim regarding President Erdoğan's plan for Bilal Erdoğan: 'After the Constitution is changed...'

According to the claim in question, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son, Bilal Erdoğan, will enter the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as a member of parliament in the first elections and will take over the leadership of the AKP after the Constitution is changed.

In an article titled "Erdoğan's plan involving Bilal Erdoğan," written by Kısa Dalga columnist Sedat Bozkurt, Bozkurt noted that Bilal Erdoğan has been very visible recently, stating, "Erdoğan cannot get his son elected president, but he can get him elected as AKP Chairman. That is the intention and the plan. Bilal Erdoğan as AKP Chairman, and Erdoğan as president for not just one more term, but several more. At least as a candidate."

Bozkurt continued his article as follows: "The AKP camp calculates that the People's Alliance will reach 400 seats in the TBMM in the first elections. Erdoğan has it in mind to make a constitutional amendment after achieving this majority. Bilal Erdoğan will enter the TBMM as a member of parliament in the first elections. After the Constitution is changed, he will take over the leadership of the AKP. With the constitutional amendment, the path for the president to be the party chairman will be closed. This will also be a 'concession' to convince the opposition."

"BILAL ERDOĞAN IS CONSTRUCTING A POLITICAL IDENTITY FOR HIMSELF"

Stating that these changes would pave the way for Erdoğan to run for office several more times, Bozkurt used the following expressions regarding Bilal Erdoğan: "Bilal Erdoğan is constructing a political identity for himself with an 'Islamist' discourse. From now on, we will see him much more involved in politics. He will not engage in polemics; he will always give positive messages about the country and the government. In other words, he will warm up to politics thoroughly. We will also start seeing AKP organizations at these events of Bilal Erdoğan."

Touching upon the possibility of an early election, Bozkurt noted, "As I had written long ago, November 2027 was decided for an early election. The implementation potential of the economic program determined this date. The results of these implementations to date raise the possibility that the early election decision will be postponed to March 2028. Erdoğan will make an early election decision when he finds 360 deputies in the TBMM. Here, DEM and the IYI Party are of critical importance due to their numbers in the TBMM. The way this decision is taken will also provide clues about new alliances."

Bozkurt said, "Do not let Bahçeli's statements mislead you; Bahçeli and Erdoğan are the two leaders who love early elections the most. With their joint decision, the country has gone to early elections both 17 months early and just one month early."
