Regarding the deputy mayoral election held following the arrest of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, Amor stated, "What happened in Üsküdar today is a mockery of democracy. The entire system was distorted to win what was lost at the ballot box."

Sanchez Amor used the following expressions regarding what happened during the election process:

"What happened in Üsküdar today is a mockery of democracy.

It is perfectly normal for people to react in tears.

The entire system was distorted to win what was lost at the ballot box.

For this, arrests, party switching, threats, and four rounds of voting today were required. This is a clear usurpation of power."
