Striking commentary from Naim Babüroğlu on the PKK terrorist organization's statement: If Turkey does not declare this declaration null and void, it means it has lost its statehood
In its statement announcing its dissolution, the terrorist organization PKK targeted the Treaty of Lausanne, the title deed of the Republic of Turkey. International Relations and Strategy Expert Dr. Naim Babüroğlu evaluated the terrorist organization's statement, saying, "If the State of the Republic of Turkey does not declare this declaration null and void in a very short time, it means it has lost its statehood."
In the new reconciliation process, of which MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli is the architect, the terrorist organization PKK has made a statement regarding laying down arms and dissolution.
The fact that the Treaty of Lausanne, the title deed of the Republic of Turkey, was targeted in the terrorist organization's final declaration has drawn a major reaction.
Journalist Gürses drew attention to the part of the PKK terrorist organization's declaration where the term genocide is used and which includes the following expressions: "We invite international powers to see their responsibilities in the century-long genocide policies carried out against our people, not to hinder a democratic solution, and to offer their constructive contributions to the process."
Speaking on Sözcü TV, International Relations and Strategy Expert Dr. Naim Babüroğlu stated the following regarding the terrorist organization's declaration:
"If the State of the Republic of Turkey does not declare this declaration null and void in a very short time, it means it has lost its statehood. It rejects Lausanne, it rejects the Republic, and it accepts that the provisions of the Treaty of Sèvres, which predates Lausanne, are valid here. They probably wrote Sèvres, and for some reason, they deleted Sèvres, but the Sèvres Treaty and the 1921 Constitution. There is no Republic in the 1921 Constitution, there are no women's rights. There is no secularism in the 1921 Constitution. There is no nation-state in the 1921 Constitution. In the 1921 Constitution, the War of Independence is still ongoing. The Republic has not yet been established.
You know about the 100-year genocide; Turkey has not been able to clear its name regarding the so-called Armenian genocide. If the state does not reject it, in 10-15 years, cases will begin in international courts claiming that 'Turkey has committed genocide against the Kurds.' Our grandchildren will have to deal with that, even though there is no such thing."
