Economist İnan Mutlu has drawn attention to the alarming rise in the number of children involved in drug and stimulant-related crimes in Turkey.
Mutlu announced that, according to 2024 data, the number of children against whom legal action was taken regarding such crimes increased by 92 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 16 thousand 563.
In the data he shared on his social media account, Mutlu stated that this increase is not just a statistic, but also shows that a social problem is deepening.
The fact that the number of children caught in drug-related crimes has reached record levels is worrying families, educators, and security forces.
