Striking detail in the poll where CHP ranks first: 'The public believes in the FETÖ exchange'

Sözcü columnist Aytunç Erkin covered the latest election poll by MAK Consulting in his column.

In his article titled "The detail in the latest poll where CHP came out first," Erkin noted that in addition to citizens' party preferences, their responses to questions about FETÖ also drew attention.

1.2 POINT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHP AND AKP

According to the research results, there is a 1.2 point difference between the CHP and the AKP.

Erkin published the MAK election poll with the words, “After the undecided voters were distributed, the CHP is at 31.2 percent, the AKP at 30 percent, the MHP at 8.6 percent, the DEM at 8.6 percent, the YRP at 7.5 percent, the IYI Party at 6.4 percent, the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) at 2.2 percent, the TİP at 1.1 percent, the Saadet Party at 1.1 percent, the Deva Party at 1.1 percent, and others at 2.2 percent.” He stated that on the 8th anniversary of July 15, citizens still believe that the political wing of FETÖ has not been uncovered, that a 'FETÖ exchange' has been established, and that other structures are attempting to infiltrate the state after FETÖ.

Here is the relevant section of Aytunç Erkin's article:

Devlet Bahçeli persistently demands that the political wing of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) be uncovered. Does he really not know? He must know! He is also waiting. Why did I start with Bahçeli? Because the “July 15 questions” asked to 6,150 people interviewed face-to-face in MAK Consulting’s July 2024 research, and the answers given to those questions, are important.

MAK asked: “What is your opinion on whether judicial and administrative proceedings were carried out with the same diligence regarding the political wing of FETÖ, while judicial and administrative proceedings were being carried out against all segments after the July 15 coup attempt?”

The response of the 6,150 people is striking. The rate of those who say “What is necessary has not been done regarding the political wing” is 62 percent. Those who say “What is necessary has been done regarding the political wing” are 19 percent; those who say “It may or may not have been done regarding the political wing” are 19 percent. 62 percent think that the government has not done what is necessary regarding the “political wing.”

The public believes in the “FETÖ exchange”

Another question from MAK is: “On the anniversary of the treacherous July 15 coup attempt, do you believe that the fight against FETÖ in our country is successful?”

“I definitely believe it” 11 percent; “I believe it” 19 percent; “I definitely do not believe it” 33 percent; “I do not believe it” 32 percent; undecided/no answer 5 percent. 65 percent do not believe that the fight against the organization is successful.

Let's continue. Another question: “What is your opinion on the allegations that some FETÖ members escaped accusations by establishing a ‘FETÖ exchange’ after the treacherous July 15 coup attempt?”

“This allegation could be true or false” 22 percent; “I think this allegation is true” 62 percent; “I do not think this allegation is true” 16 percent. Yes, one of the most crucial questions is the “FETÖ exchange.” Because there are those who were saved thanks to their money or political patrons even if it was determined that they used ByLock, 62 percent of the public believes that “some FETÖ members escaped accusations by establishing a FETÖ exchange.”

And the final question on the subject: “What is your opinion on the allegations that other structures have taken/could take the place of FETÖ after the treacherous July 15 coup attempt?”

“I have such a concern” 56 percent; “I do not have such a concern” 35 percent; undecided/no answer 9 percent.

CONCLUSION: The political wing, the FETÖ exchange, the fight against the organization, can others take the place of FETÖ? 6,150 citizens have answered these questions. I hope the government and its partner examine this part of the survey well. After all, the CHP coming out as the first party in the poll, the clear answers given regarding the economy not being managed well, etc... They are all important, but the fight against this US-backed structure, which “has infiltrated the capillaries of the state over 60 years,” is too important to be left to the AKP alone.
