Striking detail in the referral document for Melih Gökçek's son and daughter-in-law! 'With their economic status...'

A new development has occurred in the investigation initiated ex officio by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following allegations of unregistered money transfers to companies abroad.

Ahmet Gökçek, the son of former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek, and his daughter-in-law, Hülya Gökçek, went to the Ankara Courthouse yesterday to give their statements as suspects. The couple's statement process at the prosecutor's office lasted 5 hours and 10 minutes.

Following the statement process, the prosecutor's office requested that judicial control be applied to Ahmet and Hülya Gökçek in the form of a travel ban. The Gökçeks, who were referred to the duty magistrate judge, were released under judicial control conditions.

FINDINGS IN THE REFERRAL DOCUMENT

Journalist Murat Ağırel shared some findings on his social media account that he stated were included in the justification for the Gökçeks' referral to the court.

Sharing on his X account, Ağırel used the following expressions:

"So, what happened, was it slander?

So, what happened, it was being said that “the BND set a trap”?

So, what happened?

The following findings were included in the justification for the referral of Ahmet Gökçek and Hülya Gökçek to the court:

“It has been determined that the suspects have high-value money movements through the Germany-based company HAMAG GmbH, that they have acquired real estate abroad, and that there are physical cash deposits in their bank accounts that require an explanation regarding their source; when the bank account movements, real estate assets, and company activities are evaluated together, there is a discrepancy between their economic status and their investments and money movements…”

The question we have been asking for days is the same:

What is the source of this money?"

It was reported that the investigation is continuing within the scope of the examination initiated by the prosecutor's office regarding the allegations of unregistered money transfers.
