Striking message from CHP Youth Branches to AKP Youth Branches: 'It's pathetic'

CHP Youth Branches President Cem Aydın responded to the remarks made by AKP Youth Branches President Yusuf İbiş targeting CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Aydın said, "I have a study in front of me right now... I know you have the same studies in front of you, too. Your situation is pathetic."

Aydın used the following expressions:

Your situation is pathetic. You have fallen into single digits, you cannot get votes from young people, and you are melting away like a candle every passing day.

If I were in your shoes, I would focus on my work to avoid being scolded at the next meeting.

Because you are not on the streets, in the squares, or on campuses. You are not in the field. We do not see you in the markets or bazaars.

We see you remaining silent while your peers are lying in Silivri prison and spending holidays away from their families.

We see you getting ahead through meritless appointments, infringing on the rights of other young people.

You do not hear the cries of young people eliminated through interviews.

You do not see our friends broken by unemployment. You do not know our fellow graduates working 12 hours a day in construction sites and markets. You do not know the suffering of those staying in dormitory rooms that resemble prison wards.

You have no agenda other than the power struggle among yourselves.

We are shoulder to shoulder with our Chairman, our presidential candidate, all our leaders, and our organization; we are in the markets, bazaars, and squares. We are on all the streets, in all the squares, on campuses, and in workshops. Wherever the struggle for freedom, the future, and bread is, we are there."
