Striking Özgür Özel-Erdoğan poll from Metropoll! Bad news for one, good news for the other...

Public opinion research companies continue their work following the March 31 Local Elections.

Metropoll Research conducted a study regarding AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

In the survey conducted with 1,700 people between May 11-18, participants were asked the question: ''When you think about it in general, do you approve of the way Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performs his presidential duties, and the way Özgür Özel performs his duties as the main opposition leader?''

Sharing the results of the poll titled 'Job Approval of Political Leaders', Metropoll Research founder and manager Özer Sencar stated, ''The change in the 'Job Approval' values of Erdoğan and Özel in the last three months is very striking. Especially the fact that Özel's job approval and popularity are increasing despite there being no increase in the CHP's vote share is a subject that should be observed and researched carefully,'' he said.

ERDOĞAN'S JOB APPROVAL FELL BELOW 40

According to the data, Erdoğan's job approval, which was measured at 44.8 percent in February, fell to 41.0 percent in April and 39.6 percent in May. 

ÖZEL'S JOB APPROVAL CAME OUT AT 54.9

In the research, parallel to the decline in Erdoğan's job approval, an increase was observed in the job approval of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. The job approval for Özel, which was 30.4 percent in February, rose to 45.6 percent in April and 54.9 percent in May.
