Striking survey result: 7 out of 10 women face violence and mobbing!

A survey conducted by the Hürriyetçi Sendikalar Konfederasyonu with 3,418 female employees across 81 provinces for International Women's Day on March 8 has revealed the painful reality faced by women!

STRIKING SURVEY RESULT: 7 OUT OF 10 WOMEN FACE VIOLENCE AND MOBBING!

A survey conducted by the Hürriyetçi Sendikalar Konfederasyonu with 3,418 female employees across 81 provinces for International Women's Day on March 8 has revealed the painful reality faced by women!

THE RESULTS ARE HEARTBREAKING

* 70% of women are subjected to emotional violence and mobbing!

* 6 out of every 10 women do not feel safe when they are out!

* 43.4% believe they face discrimination regarding promotions, wages, and equal opportunity!

* 80% of women are uncomfortable with sexually suggestive jokes, humor, suggestive messages sent via WhatsApp, or the language used in social media posts by their friends or managers. Women state that such behaviors and messages constitute harassment!

* 1 out of every 2 women feels undervalued by their manager! They see being a woman as an obstacle to their promotion.

• Only 1 out of 10 women prefers their manager to be a woman.

"Female Employees Are Not Alone!"

In its call, the Hürriyetçi Sendikalar Konfederasyonu stated, "A fairer, safer, and more equal working environment must be created for women!" and listed the primary demands of women as follows:

"-Maternity leave should be extended to 1 year!

-Daycare support and nursing leave should be increased!

-Women should be granted the right to leave on special days!

-Standards for rest areas in workplaces should be established!"

Hürriyetçi Sendikalar Konfederasyonu President Levent Kuruoğlu also commented on the situation, saying, "Women feel that they are not sufficiently valued or respected in society. Furthermore, they are subjected to emotional violence and mobbing. In their working lives, beyond not being valued by their managers and facing mobbing, they believe they are not treated equally because they are women and face difficulties in rising to higher positions due to their gender. Additionally, more than half of women unfortunately do not feel safe when they are out. Discrimination, mobbing, and insecurity directed at our female employees are unacceptable. We will continue to fight for the expansion of their rights!"
