Stubble fire on the Syrian border in Şırnak: 7 villages affected

Following the stubble fire between Diyarbakır and Mardin, another stubble fire has now broken out in Şırnak.

The stubble fire, which started for unknown reasons yesterday morning on the Syrian border in the İdil district, was brought under control in the evening with the intervention of villagers and firefighting teams. The fire reignited due to the wind and quickly grew, affecting 7 surrounding villages.

In a statement made by the İdil Municipality, it was stated, "The stubble fire, which is advancing rapidly due to the wind from the Syrian side, has affected 7 villages connected to the İdil district. Upon receiving news of the fire, the İdil Municipality Fire Department arrived at the scene with our vehicles and teams to extinguish the fire. Vehicles and teams from the Cizre Municipality and Silopi Municipality have also arrived in the region to help extinguish the fire continuing along the border line."
