Stunning sermon from the Şehzadebaşı Mosque imam! 'You will feel the iron fist'

The imam of the Şehzadebaşı Mosque, where it was alleged that historic graves in the courtyard were damaged during protest actions in Saraçhane, used controversial expressions in his sermon to the congregation.

In the footage recorded with a mobile phone inside the mosque and circulated on social media, the imam is heard referring to the Saraçhane protests, saying, "Don't get your hopes up for nothing, my sons. That business is over even in Syria. In Turkey, you know, you will feel the iron fist, wise up! Come to your senses. We will be the means for people's salvation not by insulting or cursing them, but by praying, God willing."

Following these words, expressions of support and applause rose from some members of the congregation inside the mosque.
