Successive harsh reactions from Turkey to Israel: Attempt to annex the West Bank
Successive harsh reactions have come regarding Israel's attempt to annex the West Bank. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The step taken by the Israeli parliament towards the annexation of the occupied West Bank is contrary to international law and is null and void." AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also said, "It is a new step in the policy of genocide. This is a completely unlawful act of aggression."
Regarding Israel's attempt to annex the West Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The step taken by the Israeli parliament towards the annexation of the occupied West Bank is contrary to international law and is null and void." The Ministry issued a written statement regarding Israel's attempt to annex the West Bank.
The statement noted that this provocative step, taken at a time when efforts to establish peace in Gaza are ongoing, threatens the already fragile security and stability environment in the region, and included the following:
"The step taken by the Israeli parliament towards the annexation of the occupied West Bank is contrary to international law and is null and void. The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, is Palestinian territory. Israel's unlawful fait accompli in the West Bank must not be permitted. Turkey will continue to defend the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and support efforts to realize an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with geographical integrity, based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
REACTION FROM AKP SPOKESPERSON ÇELİK TO ISRAEL'S 'WEST BANK' DECISION
AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik reacted to Israel's scandalous 'West Bank' decision. Çelik stated, "The Israeli Parliament's decision to annex the occupied West Bank territories is a new step in the policy of genocide. This is a completely unlawful act of aggression. This aggression is a sabotage by genocidal barbarism against the ceasefire process."
In a post on his social media account, Çelik used the following expressions: The Israeli Parliament's decision to annex the occupied West Bank territories is a new step in the policy of genocide. This is a completely unlawful act of aggression.
This aggression is a sabotage by genocidal barbarism against the ceasefire process.
The West Bank is the ancestral homeland of the Palestinians. We completely reject this barbaric decision by Israel.
The establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with geographical integrity, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, will never be prevented.
VICE PRESIDENT YILMAZ: IT IS NULL AND VOID
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated, "The West Bank is occupied Palestinian territory. The decision by the Israeli Parliament to annex West Bank lands is unlawful and null and void."
In a post on his social media account, Vice President Yılmaz stated, "The West Bank is occupied Palestinian territory. The decision by the Israeli Parliament to annex West Bank lands is unlawful and null and void. This approach is also a sabotage of the fragile ceasefire process achieved in Gaza and a clear threat to regional stability. We invite all states that recognize the State of Palestine, all countries that base their policies on international law, and international institutions to stand against this aggression toward the Palestinian people and their land. Our support for the oppressed Palestinian people will continue until the occupation ends and a Palestinian State is established on the basis of a two-state solution."
