Şule Aydın and Murat Ağırel targeted by 'street gangs': Report of a motorcycle attack
It has emerged that there is a report of a planned attack against journalists Şule Aydın and Murat Ağırel, presenters of the Onlar TV program, who have recently been frequently discussed for their reporting on gangs.
Journalist Şule Aydın shared the development during today's broadcast of Onlar.
Stating, "Street gangs are something we will talk about more than terrorism in the coming years," she then made the following statement regarding the threats of attack they have received:
"We had an internal team discussion about whether or not to disclose this matter. We were not in agreement; I was in favor of not announcing it.
Because my mother spending even one night in anxiety is more important than anything else, but today we filed a criminal complaint, Murat and I...
We want to entrust this information and this news to you. We have also entrusted it to the prosecutor's office; we have handed it over to them. From now on, we have also made it clear who will be responsible for anything that happens to us.
There is a tip-off we received; there is a report stating that a motorcycle attack against Murat and me is planned, specifying where it would take place, and claiming that hitmen have been hired.
We have shared this tip-off with the prosecutor's office. We have filed a complaint. From here on, it is in their hands."
