Süleyman Soylu thanks Ali Yerlikaya following his removal as Interior Minister
Former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu commented on the removal of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, stating, "I thank Mr. Yılmaz Tunç and Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, who have handed over their duties, for the efforts and services they have provided to date."
Yerlikaya had been appointed to the position to replace Soylu.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has removed Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya from their posts. Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek has been appointed as the Minister of Justice. Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi has become the Minister of Interior.
Speaking about the appointment decisions, former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said the following in his post:
“I wish success in their new roles to Mr. Akın Gürlek, who has been appointed as Minister of Justice, and Mr. Mustafa Çiftçi, who has been appointed as Minister of Interior, by the discretion of our President, and I wish them success on the path of serving our nation. I thank Mr. Yılmaz Tunç and Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, who have handed over their duties, for the efforts and services they have provided to date.“
