Summit contacts in Bishkek: İbrahim Kalın's new look draws attention

MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın was seen in footage captured during the contacts of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

In the footage where Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Kalın are seen in the same frame, Kalın's new appearance drew attention. Kalın, previously known for his mustache, was seen to have grown a beard.

Within the scope of diplomatic contacts on the sidelines of the summit, Erdoğan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday at the Ala Archa State Residence. It was reported that the closed-door meeting lasted approximately 1.5 hours.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın were also present at the meeting in question. Kalın was appointed as the head of the National Intelligence Organization on June 5, 2023, after Hakan Fidan became Minister of Foreign Affairs.
