Support for Nasuh Mahruki from Tarkan
Tarkan has expressed his support for Nasuh Mahruki, who was arrested following a post he made on his social media account. Tarkan stated, "We stand by him during this difficult time as well."
Famous artist Tarkan has voiced his support for former AKUT President Nasuh Mahruki, who was detained and subsequently arrested after criticizing the statements made by Supreme Election Council (YSK) Chairman Ahmet Yener regarding electronic voting.
Sharing a post with the hashtag #NasuhMahrukiYalnızDeğildir (#NasuhMahrukiIsNotAlone), Tarkan wrote, "We stand by Nasuh Mahruki, who has always been there for his people with all his heart during the country's difficult days, during this difficult time for him as well."

WHAT HAPPENED?
Renowned mountaineer, author, and AKUT founder Nasuh Mahruki was arrested after criticizing YSK Chairman Ahmet Yener's statements on electronic voting in a social media post, leading to an investigation against him for "publicly spreading misleading information" and "publicly insulting judicial bodies."
Mahruki, who announced on November 12—the day he made the post—that police had come to his home, stated in his testimony at the courthouse yesterday morning that his intention was "...to point out that the electronic voting system is risky for our country in terms of ensuring a fair and honest election, taking into account our experiences regarding elections held in our country in previous years and the environment of distrust surrounding elections conducted with electronic counting systems worldwide."
