Support from Celal Şengör and İlber Ortaylı for Erdoğan’s Palestine-Israel statements: “Since the war broke out…”
Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör, a guest on the Mevzular Açık Mikrofon program, supported the stance taken by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, stating, “He has made the smartest remark since the war broke out.”
Babala TV owner Oğuzhan Uğur's program Mevzular Açık Mikrofon hosted geoscientist Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör and historian Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı.
In the program's teaser video, Şengör was seen saying, "If you ask who has made the smartest remark since the Israel-Hamas war broke out, it was Tayyip Erdoğan."
Prof. Dr. Ortaylı also confirmed Şengör's opinion by saying, "Yes, that is correct."
Şengör continued his remarks by saying, "The American fools, saying 'we are behind Israel' etc. You are fanning the flames in Ukraine! And you failed. You failed in Vietnam, you failed in Afghanistan."
Prof. Ortaylı also supported Şengör by saying, "Ignorant fellows, of course."
