Support from Eğitim-Sen for university students' protest: We are not providing services
The intense participation of university students in the Saraçhane protests, which began following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu, ensured that the reactions shown were much larger. Support for the university students' struggle has come from Eğitim-Sen.
Eğitim-Sen, which shared a post stating, "We support the rightful struggle of university students," made the following announcement:
Eğitim-Sen member academic staff are going on strike on Tuesday, March 25!
University students have risen up against the deepening anti-democratic practices in the country, the suppression of freedom of expression, the appointment of trustee rectors, and attacks on freedom of thought and organization. We will never leave the students alone in their struggle for a democratic Turkey and a free, autonomous university!
We stand with the students against the long-standing anti-democratic practices, pressures, and lawlessness!
As Eğitim-Sen member academic staff, we are not providing services on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, with the demand for "A university for the benefit of humanity, society, and nature!"
