Support from Şamil Tayyar for the dismissal of the governor in leggings: Personnel won't take him seriously

Following Governor Çiçekli wearing cycling attire, CHP deputy İnan Akgün Alp said, "He is walking around in leggings; a governor cannot be like this." After the issue was brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) by Alp, Governor Çiçekli was dismissed from his post.

Support for İnan Akgün Alp came from former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar. Emphasizing the 'representational' power of the governorship, Tayyar shared a post supporting the dismissal decision.

Tayyar used the following expressions in his statement on social media:

Stating that "Neither the citizens nor the public personnel he manages will take a governor in leggings seriously," Tayyar said: "Ardahan Governor Mehmet Fatih Çiçekli has been dismissed.

His dismissal following images of him in leggings at a cycling event led to comments that "the governor was done in by his leggings." There are those who support it and those who are angry. The interesting part is that it was CHP Ardahan Deputy İnan Akgün Alp who brought the images of him in leggings to the parliamentary agenda.

When he asked, "Can there be a governor who walks around in leggings?" it became a matter of public debate. Can there really be a governor in leggings? Governors represent the state and are the president's frontier lords in the province. They must act in accordance with this representation.
