Support message from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for the arrested Enver Aysever: Unacceptable

Det ained late at night and taken into custody, and after giving his statement at the Küçükçekmece Courthouse, Aysever was arrested on charges of 'inciting the public to hatred and disdain'hostilityor insulting' chargehe was referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace todayaround 13:40with a request for his arrest.

Shortly afterthe referral, Aysever wasan arrest warrant was issued.

While this arrest decision drew various comments, former CHP Chairman K emal KılıçdaroğluKılıçdaroğlu broke his silence and issued a statement of support for Aysever. He made a statement.

In the statement he made, he described the detention decisionreacting to thearrest, KılıçdaroğluKılıçdaroğlu used the following expressions :

"Enver Aysever is a journalist who loves his country.

The public; journalists, for the news theyproduce and the thoughts theyexpress,either approve by showing favor or judge by reacting!

This duty and responsibilitythat belongs to the publicshould not be taken upon itself by the judiciary.

This situation is unacceptable.

WoAll journalists who are imprisoned for their thoughts must be released immediately."Enver Aysever is a journalist who loves his country.

The public either approves of journalists by showing favor to their reports and expressed thoughts, or judges them by reacting!
