Surprise decision for the Polat family: TMSF trusteeship lifted

In the money laundering case heard at the Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, the court announced its interim decision regarding the file involving 28 defendants, including social media influencer Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat. The most notable decision concerned the companies belonging to the Polat family, for which the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) had been appointed as trustee.

The court lifted the TMSF trusteeship appointed to the Polat family's companies. In line with this decision, the management of the companies in question has passed back to the Polat family. However, the court did not allow the companies to remain without oversight. According to the decision, all financial transactions of the companies will be closely monitored by independent auditors to be appointed by the court.

PARTIAL FLEXIBILITY ON ASSET MEASURES

The court decided to maintain the asset seizure measures imposed on the detained defendants, Dilan and Engin Polat, as well as the other defendants. However, a significant flexibility was introduced. The measures applied to the assets of the Polat couple's first and second-degree relatives were lifted. This step has partially freed up the ability of family members to manage their assets during the trial process.

The next hearing of the case has been adjourned to November 12, 2025.
