Survey on 'secular governance' in Turkey: The AKP and YRP detail
In a survey conducted by MetroPOLL between October 10-16, 2023, with 1,691 people across 28 provinces, participants were asked, "Do you consider secular governance necessary in Turkey?" The survey yielded striking results.

While 64.4 percent of the survey participants answered "yes," 28.6 percent answered "no." The rate of those who said "I have no opinion" was 7 percent.
MetroPOLL also shared the distribution of participants based on their voting preferences in the parliamentary elections. According to this, while half of the AKP voters said "secular governance is necessary in Turkey," 40 percent argued that they "do not consider it necessary."
It was observed that 41.5 percent of Yeniden Refah Party voters do not consider secular governance necessary.
