Suspect alleged to have carried out armed attack on Serhat Akın captured
Three suspects, including the individual alleged to have carried out the armed attack on former national football player Serhat Akın in Beykoz, have been captured.
The investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the armed attack in which Serhat Akın was wounded in the foot continues.
Within the scope of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for O.M., who is alleged to have driven the motorcycle during the incident, and O.D., who is alleged to have fired the weapon, as well as M.A., İ.T., and M.A.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department launched an operation to capture the suspects.
Meanwhile, upon the request of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a confidentiality order was issued by the Beykoz Criminal Judgeship of Peace regarding the investigation file.
As a result of the work carried out by security forces, the suspect named O.D., who is alleged to have pulled the trigger in the attack, along with suspects O.M. and İ.T., were captured.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya had announced in a statement on his social media account that 2 suspects who aided and abetted in the armed attack on Serhat Akın had been captured.
Thus, the number of suspects in custody has risen to 5.
Efforts are ongoing to capture the 2 fugitive suspects identified as being involved in the incident.
