Police teams stationed at Istanbul Airport have detained an Iranian national, R.A., who was wanted by Interpol for various crimes. Following identity checks, it was determined that the suspect was being sought by Iranian authorities for serious offenses including drug trafficking and smuggling, as well as violations related to visas, residency, and work permits.
During the processing conducted by the Branch Directorate for Combating Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates, official procedures were initiated for the deportation of the suspect, R.A. It is planned that R.A. will be handed over to Iran once the procedures in Turkey are completed.
