Suspect who fired shots into the air near the Israeli Consulate General in Istanbul arrested

The police processing of the suspect, identified as B.K., who fired 5 shots into the air near the Consulate General located in Beşiktaş and was apprehended by police teams, has been completed.

Following a medical check-up, the suspect was referred to the courthouse on charges of "violating the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Implements," "intentionally endangering general security," and "property damage," and was subsequently arrested by the court.

FIRED 5 SHOTS INTO THE AIR

Yesterday, the suspect arrived near the Consulate General carrying a converted blank-firing pistol and a sword, fired 5 shots into the air, and was apprehended by police teams.

It was determined that the suspect, who was interrogated by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, had 7 "suspect" records for crimes including "intentional injury, negligent injury, violation of the Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Implements, violation of the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works, supplying substances dangerous to health, and insult."

During the detention of B.K., a sword, a silver-and-black colored pistol, and a magazine attached to the weapon were seized, while 3 empty shell casings believed to belong to the weapon were found during investigations at the scene.
