Suspect who insulted Atatürk at DEM Party certificate ceremony detained
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a suspect has been detained in connection with insulting remarks made against the founder of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the certificate ceremony for DEM Party members at the Sur Municipality in Diyarbakır.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that a suspect identified as U.G. has been detained by the Diyarbakır Police Department in connection with the incident involving insulting remarks that occurred during the certificate ceremony for DEM Party members in Sur, Diyarbakır.
Minister Yerlikaya's social media post is as follows:
"Following the Sur Municipality Certificate Ceremony in Diyarbakır, a suspect identified as U.G., who uttered insulting remarks directed at the photographs of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, located in the office, has been detained by our Diyarbakır Police Department."
