SUV plunges off cliff in Fındıklı: Two municipal council members killed

After Turgay Erdoğan (47) and Muhsin Aytemiz (65), who set off in the morning to head to the Gürcüdüzü Plateau in the Fındıklı district of Rize, could not be reached for a long time, their relatives became concerned and notified the authorities. Following the report, gendarmerie, AKUT, Provincial Special Administration, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene.

As a result of the search efforts, it was discovered that an SUV had plunged off a cliff at approximately the 5th kilometer of the plateau road. During the inspection of the vehicle found in the creek bed, it was determined that Erdoğan and Aytemiz, who were members of the Fındıklı Municipal Council, had lost their lives at the scene.

While the investigation into the accident continues, the tragic event has caused great sorrow in the district.
