Swimmer Aysu Türkoğlu has swum across the Cook Strait in New Zealand. Türkoğlu completed the crossing in 7 hours, 21 minutes, and 40 seconds.

Türkoğlu entered the water, which was approximately 13 degrees Celsius, at 09:00 TSI (Turkish Standard Time) for the Cook Strait crossing, one of the "Oceans Seven" routes. Entering the water in the evening according to New Zealand time, Türkoğlu managed to complete the challenging 27-kilometer course in the dark.

Aysu Türkoğlu finished the course in 7 hours, 21 minutes, and 40 seconds. Following the crossing, the team members who followed Türkoğlu by boat experienced emotional moments. Brought from the finish point to the boat, Aysu Türkoğlu unfurled the Turkish flag and shared her joy with her supporters who were following her live on her social media account.

Aysu Türkoğlu, who became the youngest Turkish person to swim across the English Channel between England and France on July 30, 2022, in 16 hours and 28 minutes, also swam across the approximately 40-kilometer North Channel on August 9 last year in 11 hours, 48 minutes, and 19 seconds, earning the title of the "First Turkish woman and youngest Turkish athlete" to achieve this feat.
