Swindled out of 550,000 TL while sleeping
In an unbelievable incident in Istanbul, physiotherapist Nilay Kırık was defrauded of 550,000 TL in a single night via mobile banking. Kırık, the latest victim of a fraud case that has become a nightmare for mobile banking users, lost 550,000 TL overnight despite her internet being turned off.
Kırık, who works as a physiotherapist at Bahçelievler State Hospital, became the target of fraudsters on the night of September 11. Despite her internet being turned off, the gang members managed to remotely access her phone using a system they had set up. The fraudsters entered her mobile banking application, took out consecutive loans, and transferred the money to other accounts.
SHOCKED WHEN SHE WOKE UP IN THE MORNING
Kırık, who went to work at 9 a.m., realized she had been defrauded after receiving 6 consecutive messages on her phone. Seeing the messages stating, "An Overdraft Account (KMH) has been defined for your account," Kırık immediately logged into her mobile banking and was confronted with the shocking truth.
550,000 TL DEBT AND A SHOCKING RESPONSE FROM THE BANK
The fraudsters took out a 300,000 TL consumer loan and transferred this amount, along with 141,000 TL from her overdraft account, to their own accounts. Kırık, who ended up with a total debt of 550,000 TL, contacted the bank, but the response she received was even more devastating. The bank stated that the transactions were made by her and said, "You will pay it." Kırık has begun seeking justice by filing a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office along with her lawyer.
