Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced that customs duties have been reduced on 269 products imported from Turkey, such as flour, eggs, and corn.

Speaking at the World Customs Day Celebration Ceremony in Ankara, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated that as of this week, Syria has implemented a reduction in customs duties on 269 products, including flour, chicken eggs, corn, iron and steel goods, milk and cream, and hygiene products, which are prominent in exports.

A delegation from the Ministry of Trade recently met with officials in Damascus, and it was decided that the customs duties applied by the Syrian side to all countries and at all border gates, effective from January 11, 2025, would be re-evaluated for certain products.

During the meetings, it was also agreed to begin negotiations to revive the Turkey-Syria Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which had been suspended in 2011, with a more comprehensive understanding of economic partnership.
