STATEMENT FROM SYRIAN STATE TELEVISION

Syrian State Television Al-Ekhbariya announced that Syrian army units are advancing west of the Euphrates River, starting from the city of Deir Hafer. This development in the region indicates that the process of the Syrian army taking over the area under SDF control has begun.

SYRIAN ARMY DECLARES THE REGION A MILITARY ZONE

On January 13, the Syrian army declared the regions under SDF control west of the Euphrates, primarily Deir Hafer and Maskanah, as a military zone. In the same statement, it was announced that a humanitarian corridor had been opened on the M15 highway for the safety of civilians. These steps appear to have further complicated the military and humanitarian situation in the region.
