Taksim Barricade! Police build a wall at the Valens Aqueduct for May 1st!
Due to the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, unions gathered in Saraçhane are set to march to Taksim Square. A police barricade was erected in the early hours of the morning before the groups, who were to pass through the Valens Aqueduct, arrived.
CHP leader Özgür Özel, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, DİSK, and many labor unions met in Saraçhane.
As the delegations began their march toward Taksim Square, the police set up a barricade to block the march.
The police barricade at the Valens Aqueduct has become a major topic of discussion.
