The tension that began in Parliament following the remarks of DEM Party Mardin MP George Aslan, who took the floor at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey regarding the construction of a memorial statue for Talat Pasha, continues. Aslan had stated, "We do not accept the erection of a monument for someone who gave the order for the death of tens of thousands of Armenians who were killed, exiled, and whose property was seized in 1915, when a monument should instead be erected for them. Some people may be heroes for one nation, but for other nations, these people are not heroes but murderers."

While the debate over the erection of the Talat Pasha memorial statue continues, Türkiye Gazetesi columnist Prof. Dr. Ekrem Buğra Ekinci, known for his proximity to the government, penned an article targeting the Committee of Union and Progress. In his article, Ekinci used scandalous expressions.

The following statements were included in Ekinci's article targeting Talat Pasha:

"A few Armenian youths shot them and took revenge for the Turks as well. Foreign courts found the murderers, whose families had been exiled and killed, to be in the right and did not punish them. In this way, their deaths were later dramatized, and a veil was drawn over their unparalleled flaws. They were all turned into heroes of the homeland, the nation, and even religion. The party's new slogan became: 'Unionists die, Unionism does not!'"

It has emerged that Ekinci, who was revealed to have given an interview to Zaman Newspaper, which in the past served as the flagship of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization's media structure, shared the link to the Zaman Newspaper article on his Twitter account.
