Tanju Özcan asks, 'Why has no administrative action been initiated against the Ministry of Tourism?'
Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan has directed a pointed question to Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç regarding the ongoing investigation into the fire tragedy in Kartalkaya, Bolu.
Following the fire tragedy that occurred in Kartalkaya, 78 citizens lost their lives. While millions are waiting for those responsible to be found and punished as soon as possible following this disaster, the investigation continues.
As new developments occur every day in the investigation, which is being closely followed by Turkey, Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan asked a question to Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç through a social media post.
Alluding to the investigations opened against İmamoğlu with the words 'I am not wagging my finger at the judiciary,' Özcan stated the following:
Dear Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç,
I am not wagging my finger at the judiciary, but I am raising my hand to ask this question: When the statements of the suspects, witnesses, and complainants within the scope of the file are evaluated together with the provisions of the legislation, it has been established that the entire inspection authority of the hotel, which holds a “Tourism Operation Certificate,” including for fire safety, lies with the Ministry of Tourism.
In this case, why is no judicial or administrative action being taken against any official of the Ministry of Tourism? Whatever happened to “It will go wherever it leads?”
Sayın Adalet Bakanı @yilmaztunc
