Tanju Özcan's deputy arrested in Bolu fire tragedy

Turkey lost 78 lives in the fire tragedy at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center. While a chain of 8 points of negligence stood out in the disaster, 15 people, including hotel owner Halit Ergül, were arrested.

As part of the investigation launched by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the hotel, Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener and Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun had also been detained.

THEY WERE ARRESTED

Following their procedures at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the prosecution questioning of Gülener, Coşkun, fire department personnel I.A., and the hotel's interior architect A.B., who were sent to the Bolu Courthouse, has been completed.

After their questioning was completed, Deputy Mayor of Bolu Gülener and the acting fire chief were arrested. Thus, the number of those arrested rose to 17.

While interior architect A.B. was released after questioning, Gülener, Coşkun, and I.A. were brought before the Bolu 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest. The proceedings for Gazelle Hotel General Manager A.D. at the prosecutor's office are ongoing.

HOTEL OWNER ARRESTED

As part of the investigation, 15 people, including the owner of the Grand Kartal Hotel, Halit Ergül, the company's general manager Emir Aras, and hotel manager Zeki Yılmaz, who had been detained earlier, were arrested.

6 people whose procedures at the courthouse were completed regarding the incident were released under judicial control conditions.
