Tanju Özcan's Kartalkaya outburst: A challenge to Minister Ersoy! 'If the municipality has responsibility...'
Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan criticized the fact that no lawsuits were filed against ministry officials following the fire in Kartalkaya that resulted in the deaths of 78 people. Özcan challenged Tourism Minister Ersoy by tagging him on social media.
As debates continue regarding the fire that occurred on January 21 at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Kartalkaya, which claimed the lives of 78 people, Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan has made a striking statement.
Özcan reacted to the fact that only local government and private sector representatives are being prosecuted in connection with the fire, arguing that officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Labor should also be held accountable.
Tagging Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy on his social media account, Özcan stated the following:
"If the municipality has responsibility, take me and the Tourism Minister.
Arrest us, let us be tried together. I challenge you!"
