Taxi driver charged tourist 25,000 TL on credit card, detained following complaint

O.K. was fined 6,439 TL for an expired license, and the taxi was banned from traffic for 15 days and towed to a parking lot.
In Istanbul's Fatih district, a tourist who took a taxi was charged 25,250 TL on their credit card for a 16 km journey. Upon exiting the vehicle, the tourist noticed the situation and reported it to the police. Initiating an investigation based on the receipt obtained from the POS device, the Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate's Civil Traffic teams detained the taxi driver, O.K. O.K. was taken to the police station, where proceedings were initiated for fraud.
According to the report by Müslim Sarıyar from Halk Tv, a fine of 6,439 TL was issued to the taxi driver, O.K., for having an expired license while transporting passengers within municipal boundaries.
On the other hand, because the operating license was also suspended by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), the taxi was banned from traffic for 15 days and towed to a parking lot. It was learned that O.K.'s Public Transport Usage Certificate has also been revoked. O.K., who is being processed for fraud at the police station, will be referred to the courthouse.
