Taxi driver murdered in İzmir taken to his hometown: Allegation that the attacker called his daughter!

In the Gaziemir district of İzmir, the body of Erge, who was shot by Delil Aysal—whom he had picked up in his vehicle on the night of January 31—and subsequently passed away in the hospital, was released to his relatives following autopsy procedures at the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute.

The funeral procession, consisting of a large number of taxis, brought the body to the front of the house in the Göksu neighborhood, 679/23 Street, in the Buca district, where Erge's mother resides.

After prayers were offered for his soul, the taxi driver's body was sent off to his hometown of Söke, Aydın, for burial, accompanied by a convoy of his colleagues.

ALLEGATION THAT THE SUSPECT CALLED ERGE'S DAUGHTER

Speaking to reporters in front of the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute, his neighbor Aslan Kocalar explained that they had lost a neighbor who was helpful to everyone and caused no harm to anyone, and that they were deeply saddened.

Kocalar claimed that Delil Aysal used Erge's phone to call his daughter after the incident, stating, "He takes his phone, he calls his daughter; the last person called on the phone was his daughter, he calls her. He says, 'Your father is going to die from blood loss, call an ambulance.'"
