Taxi drivers in Athens begin 48-hour strike!

According to a statement by the Athens Taxi Drivers' Union, taxi drivers in Athens have gone on a 48-hour strike starting today.

The statement noted that the taxi drivers are demanding that the right-hand lane reserved for buses in the capital, Athens, be made available for taxis when they have passengers, that taxi-like ride-sharing applications be restricted, that airport transport fares be increased, and that the tax burden be reduced.

Taxi drivers gathered in Athens and held a protest with their vehicles in front of the Ministry of Transport.
