TCDD passenger train hits car at level crossing: 3 dead
In İzmir, a TCDD passenger train struck a car at a level crossing around 09:00. Three people inside the car lost their lives due to the accident. It has been learned that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
Three people died after a TCDD passenger train struck a car at a level crossing in İzmir.
The accident occurred today around 09:00 at the level crossing in Yahşelli Neighborhood in Menemen.
According to the information obtained, the TCDD passenger train, which was in motion, hit the car at the level crossing for reasons yet unknown.
Upon notification by citizens in the vicinity, AFAD, gendarmerie, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene.

DRIVER AND PASSENGERS DIED
As a result of the examinations, it was determined that the driver, Mehmet Akkurt, and his wife, Bediha Akkurt, and his mother, Emine Akkurt, who were passengers in the vehicle, had lost their lives.
Following the efforts of the teams, the 3 people who lost their lives were removed from the vehicle. The bodies were sent to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
