TDK's Nurullah Ataç blunder: Confused with American poet
In a video about Nurullah Ataç shared on the Turkish Language Association's (TDK) social media account, a photograph of the famous American poet T.S. Eliot was used instead of the author. The post in question was deleted 10 days later.
A post made on May 17 via the Turkish Language Association's official social media account included the note, "We commemorate one of the important figures of Turkish literature, critic and essayist Nurullah Ataç, with respect and mercy on the 69th anniversary of his passing."
TDK prepared a video about the author's life to commemorate Ataç, a writer of Turkish literature.
Right at the beginning of the video, instead of a photograph of Nurullah Ataç, they used a photograph of the world-famous American-British poet and playwright T.S. Eliot.
The post, made on May 17, was noticed and deleted after 10 days.
