Survey from TDK for 'Word of the Year'
The Turkish Language Association (TDK), in collaboration with the Ankara University Communication Research and Application Center (İLAUM), has launched a suggestion process to determine the "Word/Concept of the Year 2025."
According to the statement made by the TDK, a section has been opened on the institution's website for word and concept suggestions from citizens, with the aim of strengthening the place of the Turkish language in the international cultural sphere, supporting Turkey's cultural influence on a global scale, emphasizing the value of Turkish, and spreading awareness of thinking about words.
Those who wish to make a suggestion will be able to submit their word/concept proposals and the justifications for their suggestions via the link on the website until December 14.
The submitted word/concept proposals will be evaluated by the TDK Evaluation Board.
The TDK and Ankara University aim to make the practice of determining the "Word/Concept of the Year" through public voting, which was first held in 2024, a tradition.
