Teachers: Our struggle has yielded results
Deliberations on the Teaching Profession Law in the General Assembly of Parliament have been postponed until October. Members of the Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim Sen) stated in a press release at Fikret Otyam Park, "The struggle we have waged has yielded results."
The Teaching Profession Law's deliberations in the General Assembly of Parliament have been postponed until October, which corresponds to the period after the recess. The Parliament Park, which had been the site of protests against the Teaching Profession Law, was placed under police blockade.
Eğitim Sen, in a statement made via X, said, "The struggle we have waged against the Teaching Profession Law proposal has yielded results. It has been announced that the General Assembly deliberations, which were expected to resume today, have been postponed. Our struggle will continue to grow #RejectTheParliamentTPL".
IT HAD BEEN UNDER BLOCKADE
The Parliament Park, which has long been the site of protests by private sector teachers and teachers' unions against the Teaching Profession Law, had been placed under police blockade. Following the justification citing July 15, teachers continued their protests at Fikret Otyam Park, located right next to the Parliament Park.
