Tenant rents out the house they were living in to 6 people at once and flees!
In Antalya, a former tenant rented out the house to 6 different people without the landlord's knowledge and then fled.
Zeliha Oruç, a 42-year-old special education teacher working in Antalya, experienced a shocking incident. She learned that the former tenant of the house she rented out had rented the property to six people at once without her knowledge and then disappeared. Following this ordeal, Oruç made a great effort to remove these strangers from her home.
Oruç, who rented out her house in the Özgürlük neighborhood of Antalya's Kepez district, had ended up in court with her tenant following disputes and the failure to pay rent regularly.
When Zeliha Oruç went to check on her house after a long interval, she was in for the shock of her life. Seeing strangers living in the house, Oruç said, "My neighbors in the apartment building called me. They told me my tenant had moved out and other people were living there. I took two friends with me and went to check the house. My former tenant had rented the house to 6 people without my knowledge. When they opened the door, they said, 'We bought this house.' When I said, 'I am the landlord,' they said, 'We didn't buy it, we rented it.' They said they wanted to stay in the house and pay the rent to me, but I refused. I gave them one week to vacate the house. At the end of the week, even though I had an eviction notice in hand, they were still there. Enforcement officers, accompanied by the police, initiated the eviction and cleared my house," she said.
'I WAS SHOCKED BY WHAT I SAW'
Stating that she went to check the house again the next day, thinking it had been vacated, Oruç said, "There was the sound of a dog coming from the house. I immediately called the police. They had moved their belongings into the house and had even set up the television. I was shocked by what I saw. I told them I would file a complaint against them and that they needed to leave. I went to the police station and filed a complaint. The next day, I wanted to check the house again with my family. We saw these people set up in the garden. They had established an order as if they were refugees. I went to the police again and obtained a restraining order. After these events, I also began to worry about my personal safety. Because they were not reliable people. They continued to live in the garden for a few more days. The lawsuit is ongoing. I am filing a complaint against both my former tenant and these strangers," she stated.
