Tender operation in the Land Forces: 20 people detained
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched a comprehensive investigation into allegations of public loss caused by certain tenders held within the Land Forces Command. While 20 people have been detained, investigations have uncovered irregularities amounting to millions of liras.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has taken action following allegations of irregularities in the Land Forces Command's tenders for military cargo and passenger transport. According to information reported by journalist Alican Uludağ, an operation was conducted under the prosecutor's instructions on the grounds that the tenders in question were rigged.
Within the scope of the investigation, 18 separate tenders were placed under scrutiny, and a total of 20 people, including 6 soldiers, were detained in the operation. It was learned that the suspects are facing charges of bid-rigging and bribery.
According to initial findings, it was stated that the public loss caused by the tenders amounts to 23 million 578 thousand TL. The investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.
