Tension between Ümit Özdağ and Muharrem İnce over İsmet İnönü: 'You are all the same, you are enemies of Atatürk'

In his message commemorating Alparslan Türkeş, Özdağ targeted the second President of the Republic of Turkey, İsmet İnönü.

Muharrem İnce reacted sharply to the post in question.

Özdağ used the following expressions in his post:

“Today is the birthday of the late Alparslan Türkeş. He was born in occupied Cyprus. He came to Turkey and became an officer.

Throughout his life, he opposed the departure from the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey, which began with İsmet İnönü’s speech on May 19, 1944, stating, “Being a Turkish nationalist was a duty for every Turk, from now on it is a right.”

He represented the idea of Turkish unity in politics, and this dream largely came true.

The Organization of Turkic States was established.

His response to the supporters of the separatist organization was, “What mosaic, you dogs, get lost.”

His last statement, given 1 hour before he passed away, was about Atatürk. “Atatürk is the Himalayas of Turkishness.””

MUHARREM İNCE: YOU ARE ENEMIES OF ATATÜRK

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce responded to Özdağ in a post without naming him.

İnce wrote the following:

“Those who cannot speak against Atatürk are insulting İsmet İnönü, Atatürk’s comrade-in-arms, the hero of our National Struggle, and the architect of Lausanne. The Atatürkism of those who do this is also fake; they are no different from those who called Atatürk and İsmet İnönü ‘two drunks.’ You are all the same, you are enemies of Atatürk.”
