Terrifying moments on Anadolujet flight: Ankara plane skids off runway in Hakkari, passengers evacuated
An Anadolujet aircraft landing in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari skidded off the runway due to adverse weather conditions. Airport authorities have initiated efforts to evacuate the passengers. Two mayors are among the passengers on board.
The plane, which took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 11:30, skidded and went off the runway while landing at Selahaddin Eyyubi Airport. While there were no injuries among the passengers on the fully occupied flight, which slid off the runway and became stuck in the mud, airport authorities have initiated efforts to evacuate the passengers.
It was stated that the incident occurred during the second landing attempt after the plane circled over Yüksekova due to rainfall in the region.
The wait continues on the plane, which includes Esendere Town Mayor Dırbaz Büyüksu and Şemdinli Mayor Fahri Şakar among its passengers.
